Optimum Nutrition 100% Casein contains 32g of slow digesting casein protein with very little carbohydrate (3g) or fat (0.5g). The advantage of casein over whey protein is that it can take up to 1.5-2x longer to digest, resulting in a slower more sustained release of amino acids. This may help reduce feelings of hunger and be ideal to take before bed where your goal should be to maintain the availability of protein for as long as possible, too reduce catabolism through the night.

The inclusion of BCAAs may aid muscle gain further than that of protein alone as some studies have indicated that they reduce muscle breakdown and muscle soreness after exercise.

Optimum Nutrition 100% Casein also contains glutamine, but there is no evidence that supplementation of L-glutamine will improve muscle recovery or gains in size and strength beyond that of protein alone.

This supplement contains Aminogen, an enzyme involved in protein digestion which has been shown to increase the rate at which protein is absorbed, which might seem slightly contradictory given the main feature of casein over whey protein is the longer digestion times.
